Learn to make your own unique silver ring in the fun and exciting private ‘At Home’ jewellery workshop with Ellie Jade. A wonderful way to get together with friends and host your own ring workshops.
What to expect at your private ‘At Home’ Workshop?
I will arrive 20 mins before the start time to set up your ring work stations. I will then provide inspiration boards and silver ring samples for your group to look at for potential designs. I will then talk you through the ‘wax to metal process’ and introduce you to the carving and molten techniques. Once you have carved your design you will be shown how to smooth and sand your pieces ready for casting. We can discuss texture and finishes for your final pieces. Your rings will be left with me to cast and hand finish. All rings are posted to one address within approx. 2-4 weeks. All group classes are a fun and relaxing way to bond with friends as a catch-up or special occasion. (Minimum of 8 students)
What’s included?
Everything is provided for your class including a bottle of fizz! All you need to provide is a space with tables and chairs ready for me to set up your work stations.
The techniques covered in this class will include:
- Understanding the material of wax
- How to carve your desired shape and ring size from wax
- Learn the casting process of how wax is turned into silver
- Shape, refine and sand your ring ready for casting
- Decorate and design your own ring!
- Prepare and smooth your ring ready for casting
Private parties are held in Tring and surrounding areas in Hertfordshire.
Suitable for complete beginners with no previous jewellery making experience.
